Asked Questions
What can you tell me about
the Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show?
The Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show is the Deep South’s
premier forestry show for 2008. It is the oldest outdoor,
live logging demonstration in the nation where equipment
manufacturers are allowed to operate their equipment in
actual field conditions. The show is celebrating a quarter-century
of providing a grass-roots technology transfer between loggers,
landowners, foresters, and equipment manufacturers. The
two-day attendance at the June 2006 show exceeded 6,000.
Where is the show held?
The show is permanently located in the heart of the mid-South,
seven miles south of Starkville on Mississippi State University’s
8500-acre John W. Starr Memorial Forest. It is easily accessible
by four-lane MS Highway 25. The 10-acre base site includes
a 60x100 foot pavilion which was erected in 2003 and an
open yard for static exhibits. A 40-acre forested live demonstration
site and a 10-acre parking area are located adjacent to
the base site. For directions to the show site and an area
