OFFICIAL RULES
Children must be at least five and
no older than 12 years of age (as of May 6, 2008) in order
to participate.
To enter, each child must use the
official coloring page, which will be available in the
March and April issues of Southern Loggin’ Times (SLT). Additional coloring
pages may be obtained by sending a self-addressed envelope
to Children’s Coloring Contest, Mid-South Forestry
Equipment Show, 935 Blackjack Road, Starkville, MS 39759.
Requests for coloring pages must be received by April 21,
2008.
A child may only enter ONE coloring
page into the contest. To qualify, a child should be clearly
linked to the Southern forest products industry by the
occupation of his or her close relative (such as parent,
grandparent, etc.).
Each coloring page must be accompanied
by a $1 entry fee and must be received no later than May
6, 2008. Mail to: Children’s Coloring Contest, Mid-South
Forestry Equipment Show, 935 Blackjack Road, Starkville,
MS 39759. All fees collected in excess of contest-related
expenses will be donated to the Log-A-Load for Kids charity.
The information section at the
bottom of the coloring page must be completed for the entry
to be valid. This information includes the child’s
name, birthday, mailing address, telephone number, and
occupation of relative.
Three prizes (1st place, 2nd place,
and 3rd place) will be awarded in each of four age groups,
which are: ages 5-6; ages 7-8; ages 9-10; ages 11-12. (Age
is determined as of May 6, 2008.)
Winners’ artwork will be posted at the Mid-South
Forestry Equipment Show on June 6 -7, 2008. Children need
not be present to win or accept prizes. Prizes will be
mailed to the address provided on the coloring page. Names
of all winners will be printed in the July 2008 issue of
Southern Loggin’ Times. |
